Moniteur Devices

Moniteur Devices was founded in 1992 with the mission to provide the process industries with advanced solutions for Valve Status and Control. The founders of Moniteur Devices were there at the early stages of the development of the Valve Position Indicator. Working with the products and acquiring market feedback, a need was realized for vastly improved position indicators. The second-generation Valve Position Transmitter platform is now recognized as the industry’s best. Moniteur’s product range now includes three segments – Valve Position Transmitters, Valve Networking, and Positioners.

Valve Position Transmitters

Moniteur offers a full range of Valve Position Transmitters for any of your applications. Click on each product to learn more.

Compact Valve Position Monitoring and Built-in Solenoid
Integration with EASYConnect

The SCOUT Valve Postion Controller’sapproach to low profile position sensing is a millenium-sized advance for the NAMUR style actuator market. Incorporating SCOUT VPCs advances your automated valves into the ASI and DeviceNet networking arena! The Scout is also available in many sensor output versions, making incorporating the SCOUT VPT in your plant simple.

Features & Benefits of Moniteur’s Scout VPT

ASi and DeviceNet modules are integral with the Sensor Block and provide each automated valve with a unique address on the network.

Solid State Inductive Sensors standard on all SCOUT VPTs offer a virtually unlimited cycle life.

Available in many circuit configurations – Choose from AC, DC PNP, DC 2-wire and NAMUR for direct integration into your plant’s process control system.

Fully Enclosed Sensor Electronics with no exposed resins make the Scout the ideal choice for corrosive, humid or washdown environments.

Moniteur’s optional EASYConnect solenoid mounting allows solenoid power to be routed through the sensor block, making additional junction housings unnecessary.

Indicator LEDs located on the sensor block clearly verify network, sensor and solenoid operation, and valve position locally.

Simple Installation – The Position Transmitter target mounts directly to the NAMUR output shaft of your actuator, while the sensor block mounts to the holes. No adjustment or calibration is required once the VPT has been installed.

The Moniteur DSS Dribble Control Package is a complete product incorporating two reliable ASCO solenoid valves and specially configured limit switches designed for two-stage operation. The package mounts to most spring return rotary pneumatic actuators and allows users to transform an automated valve into a two stage shutoff package. The most common applications are: Filling or metering vessels. By being able to reduce the flow rate at a given point during a filling operation, one can more accurately fill a vessel.

Flow dampening. With the two stage package, valves can be partially closed rapidly and then completely closed gradually. This reduces water hammer and shock to pipes and valves.

Application Note – Using spring return actuators for dribble control allows the unit to fail-close in case of an air or control signal failure. Avoid dribble control packages that use double acting actuators – they cannot provide this feature. Moniteur will not supply product so configured.
Features & Benefits of Moniteur’s Dribble Control Products
Dual flow rate positions for filling vessels or flow dampening
Fully adjustable set points allow the user flexibility to determine proper stage switching
Open / Closed limit switches provide additional valve end point monitoring
Factory assembled and tested, saving users and assemblers time and money
All of the standard freatures of our Sentinel or Watchman product lines.

Mechanical SPDT Switches Standard
The most popular switch for general purpose applications is rated 15A at 120 VAC and 2.5V at 24 VDC. Our standard mechanical switches are specified with higher operating forces and offer better resistance to freeze up. Specifications

Moniteur’s patented Loc-Ring Cam and Shaft Retention System ensures sensing accuracy and a multi-million cycle life of the physical platform.
DIN 4-pin Female Micro or 5-pin Mini plug connectors can be fitted to the conduit entries of the enclosures to speed installation in general purpose areas.
Moniteur’s industry-preferred indicator has a rated minimum life of 1,000,000 cycles. With indicators still in service after 9 million cycles, you’re assured of long-term reliability.

Additional Advantages of In-Plant Networking
Drastically Reduced Installation Costs – Wiring and installation time are reduced, yielding a cost saving up to 40% versus conventional methods.
Reduced Maintenance Costs and Increased System Reliability – Components require less maintenance and are designed to work “one way” only. Built-in diagnostic functions allow components to be continuously monitored.
Faster Start-Up – Set-up is simpler and diagnostic functions speed troubleshooting.
Simplified Plant Wiring – Automated valves can be inter-connected in any configuration. Utilizing 4 wires eliminates wiring “spaghetti” of older schemes.
